Jacksonville has many superior stretches of sand, but the one favored by local gay men is the secluded section of Guana Tolomato Reserve. Drive a few miles south, down A1A, to Ponte Vedra Beach. Follow the boardwalk, located at Guana's first beach access point, that winds down the 40-foot-tall dune system to a pristine stretch of sand.
Time warp. Located only about 20 miles south of Jacksonville's southernmost reaches, St Augustine -- aka the "nation's oldest city" -- is home to scads of adorable gay-owned B&Bs.
Locals who are over the bar scene, or maybe just need a little break from it, tend to congregate in the uber-gay-friendly Five Points historic district of shops and restaurants in the Riverside area.
There's no better place to get an eyeful of muscle than Jacksonville Municipal Stadium during a Jaguars game. Bonus: The Jaguars offer some of the lowest ticket prices in the NFL.
Scope local art -- and plenty of cute local guys -- at bars, restaurants, galleries and museums throughout the urban core during downtown Jacksonville's monthly Art Walk, which takes place from 5 to 9 pm on the first Wednesday of every month. The event is sponsored by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jacksonville.
